What is Dyspraxia?

Dyspraxia is a neurological condition that impairs movement, perception, language and thought

There are different kinds of dyspraxia: developmental, verbal and physical. Dyspraxia also goes under the label Development Co-ordination Disorder (DCD). It is also related to Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) or Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). This is because in its essence dyspraxia is an auditory issue as it’s related to balance, which is an inner ear function.

Dyspraxia affects each person in different ways, at different stages of their development, and to different degrees.

But Dyspraxia is also very common: it affects up to 10% of the population, with 2% being severe cases. Very often dyspraxia will run in families.
